The three colors Red, Black and White are very bold and stand out well. The three colors are not aimed at any gender so the magazine appeals to both boys and girls. The image on the front cover is Cheryl Cole and has been used to match the rest of the magazine for example the red lips and the red tung match the title of the magazine and , her dark hair blends in with the background and her silver ring matches the rain which is also in the background of the magazine. Q used Cheryl Cole as she is a famous singer and is also mentioned in the media a lot at the moment. The title Q itself is only one letter making it very easy to remember and also makes it really catchy. Its on a big red box which makes it look 3d also the colors used in the title match the rest of the magazine. The heading "Cheryl Cole Rocks" shows this magazine is focusing more on the rock genre. Also it says "UK's Biggest Magazine" this makes the magazine sound good and professional and will also get more buyers as people will think its the best one around. The overall impression i get from this magazine front cover is that it is very appealing mainly due to the bold and catchy headlines and the front image of Cheryl Cole makes you want to see what other images of her there are in the magazine.

NME is a music magazine, there target audience
The title of the magazine is red which stands out well especially with the white background. It has a white and black border which makes it look 3D and stick out of the page. It has a a yellow box which says "FREE CD" It uses the yellow box to make this stand out. When someone is looking to buy anything they look for something with the best value of money and as this is bundled with a free CD it will make customers buy it over other magazines. The seven celebrities take up nearly the whole magazine which is unusual as they normally only take up two thirds of the page. At the bottom right hand corner of the magazine there is a box that looks like it has been ripped out of the magazine, it gives us a little insight into what else is in the magazine. There is also a circle in the middle of the magazine saying "LOVE MUSIC, HATE RACISM" This shows the magazine is looking out for real life events that are occurring in todays world. The combination of the main four colors  works really well and goes together good.

We can tell this magazine is a music magazine because of the celebrity is a well known rockstar from the group greenday. We also know its a music magazine because of the guitar. The title of the magazine is bold and stands out very well. The four colours mix very well with the bacground. The sub headings are also bold and match the main title. There are also black quotes spoken by celebrities with a green background which also makes it stand out. There is also a star shaped box which has a title "Plus." This shape makes it look as if it is sticking out of the page.
